PUBG Mobile TDM: 10 Tips to Dominate 1v1 Rooms

Most players treat TDM as a warm-up mode. Put it in a 1v1 room and it becomes something else: a pure duel with no loot luck, no third parties and nowhere to hide a weak game. These ten tips cover what actually separates the players who win 1v1 rooms from the ones who blame ping.

1. Warm up before you accept any duel

Never take a duel cold. Run five minutes of public TDM or the training ground first: spray a wall to feel your recoil, track moving targets, and take a few real fights. Your first three gunfights of the day are usually your worst, so spend them somewhere they do not count.

2. Peek in jiggles, not wide swings

Wide peeks show your whole body before you even see the enemy. Instead, jiggle peek: step out just far enough to see the angle, step back, and repeat. You gather information while giving your opponent a target that appears and disappears. When you finally commit, you already know where they are.

3. Know your hip-fire and ADS ranges

Inside close range, hip-fire with an SMG or shotgun-style spray beats a slow scope-in almost every time. At mid range, ADS wins because spread punishes lazy hip-fire. The mistake is being caught between the two, half scoped and moving slowly. Decide before the peek: this angle is a hip-fire angle or an ADS angle.

4. Time your grenades, do not spam them

A grenade thrown on cooldown is a free warning. A grenade thrown the moment your opponent ducks behind cover after losing a trade is a kill or a forced reposition. Use frags to move people, not just to fish for damage, and cook them long enough that they cannot simply run from the bounce.

5. Rotate cover after every fight

If you kill someone from a spot, assume they respawn knowing exactly where you were. Take the kill, then move to a new piece of cover with a different angle on the same space. Players who camp one crate in TDM feed streaks in the first minute and get farmed for the rest of the match.

6. Learn basic gyroscope, even at low sensitivity

You do not need full gyro aiming to benefit. Turn it on at a low setting and use it only for micro-adjustments while your thumbs do the big movements. Recoil control especially becomes easier when a small tilt of the phone pulls your spray back on target. Give it a week before judging it.

7. Pre-aim head height on common angles

Every TDM map has a handful of angles where fights repeat all game. Keep your crosshair at head height on those angles as you move, so when an enemy appears the flick is tiny. Aim is not just reaction speed, it is preparation. For a full breakdown, improve your aim with our dedicated guide.

8. Play sound instead of camping

Footsteps, sprint audio and reloads tell you where your opponent is and what state they are in. Use earphones, walk when close, and push the moment you hear a reload. Reacting to sound lets you play aggressively with information, which beats both blind rushing and passive camping.

9. Control the pace when you lead

In a race to a kill count, the player who is behind must push. If you are up, stop giving free fights. Hold strong cover, take only the peeks you choose, and let the scoreboard pressure do the pushing for you. Impatience while leading throws away more 1v1s than bad aim does.

10. Manage your nerves when coins are on the line

A wagered duel feels different from a casual room, even when the stake is virtual coins. Shaky thumbs come from shallow breathing and overthinking the score. Slow your breathing between fights, focus on the next gunfight only, and stick to the habits you drilled. Nerves fade with reps, so the fix is playing more duels that matter, not avoiding them.
